Using an older photo
- Do not reuse a photo from an earlier application or an old photo from your phone. Take a new one. (Passport911 tip, not an official rule)
- Passport911 cannot tell when a photo was taken, so it does not check this rule for you.
- Babies and young children change quickly, so take their photo close to when you apply. (Passport911 tip, not an official rule)
Canadian citizenship photos
Canada also uses a 6-month rule for citizenship photos: no more than 6 months before you submit your application.
